Swimming Northland Awards 2017/18

At the recent Swimming Northland awards presentation in Whangarei on Sunday 22 July a number of BOISC swimmers, technical officials and parents received awards relating to the 2017/18 season:

 

Archie White received the R&C Gillespie Trophy for the fastest male 200m LC Breaststroke, the Skip Peyman L. M. Trophy for the fastest male 100m LC Breaststroke, and the Swimming Northland Trophy for the fastest male 50m LC Breaststroke.

 

Emilia Finer received the H. F. Crane Trophy for the fastest female 200m LC Butterfly and the M.&B.Cameron Trophy for the fastest female 100m LC Butterfly.

      

Ariella Ripohau was awarded the Swimming Northland Trophy for the swimmer who earns the Highest XLR8 points in an event at NZ Juniors

 

Nicola Dearnley was joint recipient of the Mick Parr Memorial Trophy for swimmer service to sport together with Katelin Milina of Whangarei Amateur Swimming Club. This is awarded to the swimmer who not only competes but also contributes to club activities such as coaching, teaching, timekeeping, and helping out where/when needed.

 

David Finer was awarded Swimming Northland Technical Trophy for Emerging Official of the Year. This recognises an upcoming official that has taken steps throughout the year to upskill and show dedication and commitment to learning new roles.

 

The Crawford/Woodman Cup was awarded to Bay of Islands Swimming Club. This cup goes to the winner of an 8-swimmer relay (boy and girl under 12, 12+13, 14+15, 16 + over). Our winning team at Northland Age Group Champs 2018 was

Ben Colbatz, Ariella Ripohau, Keyah Tana, Emilia Finer, Kori Brown, Emily Lyall, Nicola Dearnley and Archie White.

 

In addition two members of the club received long service awards, David Finer and

Beth Finer have both been serving the swimming community in Northland for more than 7 years.

 

Very many congratulations to all our awards recipients, the club as a whole are very proud of every one of you.
